2014 Prom Press Release

The 2014 Parkway High School prom was held on Saturday, April 26. The theme this year was “Masquerade.” The decorations focused on a classic, elegant look. Students entered the gymnasium through a picture-frame doorway. Lining the walkway were over 150 votive candles. The ceiling featured material cascading from the center of the gymnasium to the walls. The center piece of the dance floor was a giant chandelier. Lampposts were graciously loaned to the class by Dreams by Talonda. Sophomore servers were Thuy-Anh Dang, Shelbe Eddington and Bailey Rodriguez. Freshman servers were Carson Ford, Seth Secaur, Kaylee Heindel, Sarah Gehron, Shay Pond, Alivia Stover and Megan Weirrick. Promenade was led by Mrs. Shannon Wagner, Junior Class Advisor. She was escorted by Seth Rollins, Junior Class Vice-President. Introducing the students during promenade was Mr. Kevin Browning.

Promenade concluded with the crowning of the 2014 King and Queen. Candidates for King were:

  • Mr. Austin Adams, son of Kerry and Karrel Adams
  • Mr. Austin Dennison, son of Tisha Rodriguez and Shane Dennison
  • Mr. Noah Gehron, son of Scott and Heidi Gehron
  • Mr. Dakota Schaffner, son of Kelly and Karen Schaffner
  • Mr. Jacob Stein, son of Jerry and Melania Stein

Candidates for Queen were:

  • Miss Courtney, daughter of Michael and Anita Dicke
  • Miss Camille Hellwarth, daughter of Garrett and Judy Hellwarth
  • Miss Ashlynn Henderson, daughter of Jeff and Pam Henderson
  • Miss Cheyenne Stant, daughter of Shad and Dawn Stant
  • Miss Taylor Suzuki, daughter of Tyler Suzuki and Paula Harman

The 2014 Prom King is Mr. Jacob Stein and the Queen is Miss Taylor Suzuki. Crowning the King and Queen were Junior Class President, Seth Rollins, and Vice-President, Kayle Heckler.

The students then entered the gymnasium for an evening of dancing. This year’s DJ was Stage Right Productions. While enjoying the music, students were treated with 10 cases of bottled water and more than 30 dozen cookies, prepared by Junior Class parents.

After the dance, the students were allowed to change from their formal attire and then return for after-prom activities. 130 students boarded 2 busses and traveled to Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater. Unlimited pizza, pop and bowling were the highlight of the festivities. Thanks to the generous contributions of many area businesses, students were all able to earn prizes, including a 24” tv, laptop computer, surround-sound system, a dorm refrigerator and microwave.
The Junior Class wishes to thank the following area businesses for their generous contributions to this year’s prom activities:
