Welcome – 14 members present
Kylie – Donation approved to Mendon Community Church LAMP Committee for their Basket Bingo – Each member will bring in a donation for the basket to the next meeting.
‘Rocktoberfest” planning meeting
Date: Saturday – October 31, 2026 —– Noon to 4 pm
Trick or Treat 5-6:30 pm
Costume Judging at the Fire Station – 7 pm
First donation from S & B Coin Laundry. David will do a post to acknowledge our first sponsor !
Amy Wendel volunteered to mail the sponsorship information once we get the logos updated on the form.
Lisa will email to members.
Will concentrate on the light parade instead of having at both events.
Tent to be located on East Market st. — Need some quotes.
Events include:
Face Painter, Balloon Artist, Vendor Market – 31 vendors to date, Car show sponsored by Tranquility – with 1st 50 entries for car plaques, $10 registration $5 to chamber and $5 to 50/50. Food trucks – Fork in the Road, Little Piggies, Chips, Dips and Lemonade sips, Meats a Moving. Methodist Men will do brisket in front of Kore Construction, Methodist Church will have the mini golf and the bounce houses, SCHS Fry Pie Fundraiser with pies picked up during event from 2 to 4 pm. May have additional to purchase day of. Planning ‘Rockford Catsup” sales, games include Plinko, Spooky Wheel, Junk Food Wheel, and maybe a ring toss. Cotton Candy machine. Will check with NHS students to see how many can help during the event., Ticket booth for games instead of cash at each station.
Rockford Library will sponsor an event at their location along with make and take crafts and book sale.
Audrey Hamrick planning a 5K event.
Would like to see more groups providing events.
Ashley will check with Grier’s for porta pots.
Need permission from council to close Market St for Car Show and ‘No Parking” along Main street for the day.
Need permission from Matt Triplett to use the empty lot for car show overflow.
Next after hours Tuesday, October 6th – Rockford Eagles – kitchen will be open. 5 – 7 pm. Will invite those that are celebrating anniversaries to come and receive plaque. Need to have chamber membership information handy.
