Meeting Minutes: June 25, 2024 – special meeting

                           Council SPECIAL Meeting Minutes

June 25, 2024

Mayor Ron Searight called the meeting to order at 8:15 pm.

Visitors – Kara Smith, Brian Miller, Marge Gehle, Patrolman Miller

Prayer / Pledge of Allegiance:

Roll Call:    Marcas Heitkamp, Mark Heitkamp, Luke Stephenson,  

Mary Beougher, Shane Young, Chris Heitkamp

Motion Marcas  to Accept Agenda as Orders of the Day.  Second Luke.  Mark called for the question.   Marcas = y, Luke = y, Mark = y, Mary = y, Shane = y, Chris = y.  Passed 6 yes.

Mayor’s Report:

Because of the lack of volunteers and needed supplies Mercer County – except the St. Henry District  – will form a Mercer County Joint Ambulance District.  This will include the all municipalities and townships.    Working to get the information together and on the ballot for November.    The ambulance district will be supported by an Advisory Board.  This Board will meet several times to finalized the finances needed and ballot language.  After that the Board will meet quarterly.    With this joint district the funds will be used to pay on call as an incentive to keep those volunteers we do have and hopefully get more people on board.   Will also include 4 full time personnel for nights and weekends along with the chase vehicle.   All information is available at the Village office for review.  

RESOLUTION #05-24

A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE CREATION AND PARTICIPATION IN THE MERCER COUNTY JOINT AMBULANCE DISTRICT.

Motion:  Marcas.  Second Luke.  Chris called for the question.  Marcas = y, Luke = y, Chris = y, Mark = y, Mary = y, Shane = y.  Passed 6 yes.
