Rockford Chamber notes from 7/9/26
Next Meeting – August 13, 2026
- It was agreed upon by members present that this will be Rocktoberfest Focused and beginning of planning for Christmas lights
Members Present: Jessica Shaffer, Ami Boley, David Trisel, Amy Noll, Amy Wendel, Kyle Houser, Pastor Bill, Shelly Muhlenkamp
Financial Report
- We have just over $12,000 in the bank
- We will need to consider how to get that back to a healthier balance as we have given a few big donations recently.
- Both Scholarship recipients have given correct paperwork, so those will be written out soon. Congratulations to Lola and Taylor
- Our portion of the logo revitalization is unknown at this time
- To get the website ADA compliant, our portion will be $1600 to help redo/host/etc. the website, the total cost is being split with the village.
- Talked about having a donation bucket out at Hollydays as many people had asked about that last year.
Chamber Business:
- Know there is talks of finalizing the logo between Brand It and some village employees, looking forward to seeing what that will look like
- Reminder that the first After hours Social Networking event will be next Thursday, July 16th from 5-7 PM at Second Crossing, there will be a food truck on site. Chamber is going to give a few chamber gift cards away and some other businesses will have attendance prizes.
- Looking to do the next one at Rockford Eagles on potentially October 6th from 5-7 it’s a Tuesday evening.
- Looking to start a “Featured Business” again on Facebook to make chamber businesses known and get their names out there. Each person at the meeting will take their own business to get 2-4 sentences about and possibly a picture. So we can showcase them. Other businesses that people took are as follows: Amy Wendel – Wabash/Kore Construction; Amy Noll – Rockford Eagles/Henkle Insurance; Kylie Houser – People’s Bank/Belna’s; Ami Boley – Mercer Health/Grains of Love; Shelly – Library/Reigle Drywall/Four-U; Jessica Shaffer – Peel’s Pitstop
- We are thinking the same process for COY and BOY – announce at Holly days
- For Rocktoberfest and Hollydays we are thinking about asking for donations to sponsor one or the other or giving a discount to do both. – Attached is what we did last year (Amy W created it) and what Chat GPT helped me create for this year, will not be offended if someone wants to make it different!
- Also talked about giving some of the celebration year plaques out at the event next week. If Amy Noll has them ready?
