Chamber News – June 2026
Welcome —- 10 members present
Financial Report: — From last meeting – Committee in favor of donation to the Rockford American Legion for $50 – to support the Avenue of Flags. Also committee all agreed to donate $25 to the Rockford Lions Car Show. Motion Pastor Bill. Second Lacey to approve the Parkway Spirit program in the amount of $370 with WCSM — includes commercials that will be used for Rocktoberfest.
Old Business:
Rockford Branding update – meeting was held on June 10th at 4 pm. Several members able to attend and feel we are moving in the right directions. Brand It took our suggestions and will be giving us some proofs in the next week or so. Will be squaring off the logo, adding rocks with a more river look that ties Mendon, Rockford and Willshire together — colors chosen ties us to Parkway school district and the tag line will remain the same as previously approved. Was a good meeting and good to get back on the project.
Parkway Scholarships — Congratulations to: Lola Dailey and Taylor Muhlenkamp.
Previous meeting discussion regarding joining the other Mercer County Chambers – All agreed – No.
New Business:
Congratulations — new business —-Rockford Press
Rockford press is a modern screen printing shop with roots in tradition. Inspired by the legacy of the old newspaper press, we bring bold ideas to life through custom apparel. Every print is made with purpose, precision and ink-stained history. Set date and time for Ribbon Cutting !
SchoolHouse Farms having a 250th celebration asking Chamber members if anyone can help out with this 4 day event August 6 – 9th. Hot air balloon rides, 5K, Vendors, Fireworks 10 am – 6 pm and until 10 pm the night of the fireworks. Will present them with – 10 Year anniversary plaque during the event.
Rocktoberfest —- Good News —Mayor Searight got the OK — to close Main Street for the event !
Need to plan and start promotions by early to mid September ! Amy W will reach out regarding pony rides, might need more kids games, Tranquility will sponsor the car show, Amy N working on vendors. Need to work out logistics – next meeting all about Rocktoberfest. Ami Boley will work on getting some drawstring bags donated from Mercer Health.
Quarterly networking meetings — Will create a semi-formal invitation to be mailed to all members –
Rockford Chamber of Commerce — 1st After hours social networking event
Thursday – July 16th 5 – 7 pm Second Crossing Brew Co — 142 N Main St., Rockford
Food truck on site —- TwoDads – Chicken & Fries Attendees eligible for door prizes
Build relationships with other members, share insights, and explore
collaborative partnerships.
Will work on putting together some door prizes for the event. Amy N has some things from the Rockford Eagles. Motion Ami Boley, Second Amy Noll to put together a $100 value gift basket from the Chamber. (Thinking gift cards for local businesses as a suggestion)
