Council called to order by Mayor Amy Joseph on

Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 7:30 pm at the Rockford Village Hall.

 

Invocation was given by Jeff Long

By the next council meeting we will get firm pricing on the lots.   We have talked with both local realtors to being marketing.

Motion Rutledge to approve the February monthly financial reports

Cash Summary by Fund, Appropriations report, Revenue Report,

Budget vs Actual activity report, February Bank reconciliation,

February monthly transfers, supplemental appropriations to date. Second Dooley, Heitkamp called for the question.  Rutledge = y, Dooley = y, Heitkamp = y, Gehle = y, Pontsler = y.  Passed 5 yes.

 

 

Motion Pontsler to approve an increase in the estimated revenue for Fund 4901 – Capital Project Equipment Fund – $3,000. Second Dooley.  Gehle called for the question.  Pontsler = y, Dooley = y, Gehle = y, Rutledge = y, Heitkamp = y.  Passed 5 yes.

RESOLUTION 02-16

THE BOARD OF COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ROCKFORD, IN MERCER COUNTY, OHIO TO PROVIDE FOR THE CURRENT EXPENSES AND OTHER EXPENDITURES OF SAID BOARD OF COUNCIL OF ROCKFORD, DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31,2016.

Service Committee:   Greg Pontsler  – nothing

 

Safety Committee:     Chris Heitkamp

 

Held a safety committee meeting before council meeting at 6:30 pm. Post Office building coming along fine.  We will be having a safety inspection of park equipment.   Safety videos should be viewed monthly.  Stops signs have been updated.  All problem pot holes have been fixed.  The junk ordinance will be headed up by Patrolman Stose on Saturdays.

 

 

Economic Development Committee: Rob Rutledge  – nothing

 

Public Utilities Committee:   Wilbur Fox – absent

 

Rules Committee:      John Dooley  – nothing

New Business

 

Chief May updated council on a State of Ohio safety grant to purchase a new cruiser. The deadline for the grant application is March 21.  He will be asking for $30,744 from State with village matching funds of $5965.

Chief May updated council on the resignation of Brian Burns. Chief May will be moving Steven Stose up to a paid part time position in the next couple of weeks.

 

Updated the Rockford information card with suggested changes. All are ok with changes.
