Mayor’s Message –
Again — Congratulations to His N Hers Styling Salon for fifty years of service to our community. Thank you, Brenda Barker, for your years of service and to all that have helped her achieve this accomplishment.
A big thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring Rocktoberfest, as it was a successful day of fun for the whole family. We had a great turnout of people that attended it and there was so much to see and do. It truly was an all day event.
Thanks to the Rockford Fire Department for the Halloween costume judging at the Fire House. Kids look forward to it just about as much as they do the candy. It’s a great time for all ages to come and see these kids in costumes and enjoy. And the best part the entertainment comes mostly from our community of kids wearing such creative costume, and their parents’ wonderful ideas.
If you are a Rockford business owner and want to see Rockford grow along with your business, please get with the Rockford Chamber of Commerce and see how you can help them. Get involved with the community that you serve.
Winter Crisis Program (WCP) is now available for qualified residents to help with heating expenses for this year. For more information, you can stop by the Village Office or contact West Ohio Community Action Partnership in Celina for more details.
Finally, thanks to the Rockford businesses for being open and serving our community this past Saturday during Rocktoberest, but also every day. You do so much for our community with the services that you provide, along with the jobs you provide as well. Support them when you can, as they need it and appreciate it. Thank you.
Remember, “Give more than you take and you will receive more than you gave.”
God Bless you,
Mayor Ron Searight

Council discussed the need for an additional Police Protection Levy for consideration in May 2027. General fund is taking a downward turn and expenses are increasing each year. We are trying to be good stewards of Village finances and do not want to ask for more than is needed and we don’t want to have to come back for additional revenues. We are working on a solar project to help with electrical costs and are looking at other areas we can save money but the bottom line is we need additional revenue. Please review the following options and come back with your decision at the next meeting.
Police budget 2026 —327,758.00 or 12.73%
