Council called to order by Mayor Amy Joseph on

Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 7:30 pm at the Rockford Village Hall.

 

Invocation – Jeff Long

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Those present: Gehle, Rutledge, Fox, Pontsler, Now, Heitkamp

 

 

Also attending: Srgt Stetler, Shane Young and Tom Stankard of the Daily Standard, and Kevin Browning

 

Motion Fox. Second Pontsler to accept the agenda as orders of the day. Gehle called for the question. Rutledge called for the question. Fox = y, Pontsler =y, Gehle = y, Rutledge = y, Now = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 6 yes.

 

Motion Rutledge. Second Heitkamp to accept the minutes from the

December 5, 2017 council meeting as presented. Fox called for the question.

Rutledge = y, Heitkamp = y, Fox = y, Gehle = y, Pontsler = y, Now = y.

Passed 6 yes.

Mayor’s Report and Correspondence:

 

Mayor noted receipt and review of Mayors Court pay in. bank reconciliation, and bank statement.

 

Mayor would like to see some goals and projects and plans for 2018 at the January meeting – Village, Police and Radio station.

 

Community Announcements and events:

 

December 23 –   RADC to hand out Candy Canes at 4-way stop

 

December 25 – Together at Christmas – FREE MEAL

Rockford Community Building.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Village Administrator’s Report – Jeff Long

 

Jeff introduced Resolutions for aggregation program for gas and electric. Council would like to review the information to be voted on at the January meeting.

 

 

Committee Reports

 

Finance Committee – Steve Gehle

 

Motion Rutledge to pay bills as submitted in the amount of $15,744.54.  Second Now. Pontsler called for the question. Rutledge = y, Now = y, Pontsler = y, Gehle = y, Fox = n, Heitkamp = y. Passed 5 yes.

 

Motion Fox. Second Pontsler to accept the Mayors Court pay in of $1,581 Rutledge called for the question. Fox = y, Pontsler = y, Rutledge = y , Gehle = y, Now = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 6 yes.

 

Service Committee:   Greg Pontsler

 

Buildings at the park continue to be in demand for rentals. It’s a good thing.

 

Safety Committee:     Chris Heitkamp

 

Economic Development Committee: Rob Rutledge

 

RESOLUTION 16-17

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION OF 0.654 ACRE TRACT TO THE VILLAGE OF ROCKFORD, MERCER COUNTY, OHIO

 

Motion: Gehle. Second Pontsler. Now called for the question. Gehle = y, Pontsler = y, Now = y, Rutledge = y, Fox = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 6 yes.

Old Business

 

Radio station update – goals for next year:  Parkway Students getting involved, more sports, some former students have come forward to volunteer to call games, most popular on the radio is the sporting events. Community events can be listed and talked about on the radio, but organizations need to send the information to the station.  Discussed the Board and setting up some guidelines for next year.

There will be a meeting on January 9th at 7 pm.
