Mayor’s Welcome to the Village of Rockford and upcoming events

Welcome to Rockford, Ohio. As Mayor I want to thank you for your interest in our community and what we have to offer. We’re a small community that has a great park, numerous civic organizations that enrich the whole community, churches and volunteer groups of all sorts. These are the things that make a community of all, as we work towards making our community the best it can be.

Winter is upon us and so are the holidays. All the way down Main St. you’ll see Christmas Lights wrapped around are decorative light post. This makes this town shine at night. Shane’s Park is lit with all kinds of figures and lights, giving it a festive feel as you see it. Drive through the park or better yet walk and see its festive beauty. While there, drive around town and look at the many decorative houses that are prepared for the season. I think you’ll like what you see.

Being a small town has many advantages, as we’re a close-knit community that cares for one and another. One that takes pride in who we are, what we have, and where we need to be. We see this love as it is demonstrated by our local churches coming together to provide a free meal for everyone on Christmas Day. This lunch is provided, made, and served, all by volunteers that want to make this day special for everyone, no matter who. They also do this without any free will offering to pay for it.

Rockford doesn’t stop there, as we have many activities going on at the library, school, and at the Community Building throughout the year. We have many volunteer organizations that are always looking for more to join. Join them and enrich your life, as you find warmth in the building, friendship of the people as you grow within the group, and growth that you’ll provide for your community. Rockford is alive and growing. Come and be a part of this growth!
