Mayor’s Welcome to the Village of Rockford and upcoming events

Hello from Mayor Searight –

Welcome to our village! We are a small town with big hearts. Our town offers a unique blend of people that just generally care for one and other. We have a great park that offers a variety of options from the youngest to the ones that would rather sit and watch. A historical log cabin that dates to our town’s founders’ years, to other sites that describe Rockford’s rich history. Organizations, groups, and churches that will help you grow for today and tomorrow are all here.  Come and see us, as we are closer than you think.

As summer shows its heat, many things are being planned for the rest of the summer and early fall.  Maker’s Market is open at Shanes park.  There are a variety of local vendors, for your one-of-a-kind shopping experience.  This happens every 1^st and 3^rd Sunday of each month until the end of October.  The Rockford Fire Department will be holding their Reverse Raffle and Chicken Dinner on September 14th. This is a great way to support our fire department and win some prizes. Parkway and Mendon-Union will be celebrating 50 Years of Girls Sports on September 29^th, with several events planned.  Come and congratulate the many young women that have contributed to Parkway Sports and what it did for them. These events along with the Rockford Rec youth football & soccer programs, all of Parkway’s fall sports, you can keep your calendar full.

Participate and support  the activities that are within the Rockford area, as we have a lot to offer. Enjoy the season. God Bless.
