Meeting Minutes: October 9, 2014

The October meeting was called to order by President Jane Cozad at 8 am at the Village Hall.
The September minutes were read. Motion Nancy. Second Norm to approve the minutes as read. All in favor.
Lisa gave the financial report. General fund balance $2046.88. Total all funds $5838.19. Motion Jane. Second Norm to approve. All in favor.
Jane told the members that she will be stepping down as President at the end of the year. Marie Miller has expressed interest in stepping up as President. If anyone else is interested in volunteering for an officer position, please let us know.

The Business Directory is coming along nicely and will hopefully be going to print next week. Lisa and Marie to work on a couple details to finish the project.
We will be holding elections at a special meeting in December. We will be having our December meeting on December 1st at 6:00 pm at the Rockford Carry Out. Please RSVP to Lisa if you are able to attend the meeting. Each member will be paying for their own meal.
Congratulations to New Horizons Community Church for being the October business of the month !
We need volunteers to help decorate the park for Christmas on November 8th and November 15th at 9 am.
We also need volunteers to help with Christmas at the Park event on November 30th.
Plug in lights, serve hot chocolate, etc.
The next Chamber meeting will be a working meeting at the Rockford Community Building on November 6th at 8 am. The chamber will provide donuts, coffee and juice. (Jane – Coffee and Nancy – Juice) We will be setting up for the Chamber Banquet that will be held the evening of November 6th.
There is still time to place your order for spring bulbs through the Flower Power fundraiser. Deadline is October 15th.
The Rockford 2020 Bicentennial Meeting will be held on October 20th at 7 pm.
We have not heard of any Small Business Saturday activities to warrant an ad to be placed this year.
Mr. Puthoff gave an update about Parkway School. For the most part things are going very good. We are blessed to have a good school system. We are going into our 9th year at the “new” school.
