Council called to order by Mayor Amy Joseph on
Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 7:30 pm at the Rockford Village Hall.
Invocation was given by Jeff Long.

Motion Fox. Second Pontsler to accept the agenda as orders of the day. Heitkam called for the question. Fox =y, Pontsler = y, Heitkamp = y, Gehle = y, Dooley = y. Passed 5 yes.
Motion: Fox. Second Dooley to accept the minutes from the
March 17, 2015 council meetings as presented. Gehle called for the question. Fox = y, Dooley = y, Gehle = y, Pontsler = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 5 yes.

May 2nd – Dave Fields – Rockford Tour – 7:30 pm – Rockford Community Building “All In” – 26 weeks in the top 5 on the RMR Blues Chart. Ticket outlet- Sunshine Oil – $10.
June 12th – Principles in Leadership Seminar – 6 pm – Rockford Community Building. FREE and open to the public. * Speakers are servants that enjoy sharing information and making the world a better place.
June 19-21 – Rockford Community Days – concert events: Thom Mckee, Shelby County Line, Nut Flush, & Kill the Rabbit
* Arbor Day Proclamation – Mayor Joseph proclaims April 24th – Arbor Day in the Village of Rockford. She urges all citizens to plant trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of this village and future generations.
Wilbur Fox requested information on getting a tree replaced in a Village right of way in front of his house. Need to contact Bob Ransbottom – President of the Tree Committee.
Village Administrator’s Report – Jeff Long
We have begun work on the allys. So far we have spread 365 ton of stone to make ally improvements. We are saving $6.50 a ton from previous pricing. We will continue this project until it’s finished.
Brush pick up will begin again on April 14th – note… we make every effort to always pick up the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
Project packets were given to council. We need the chairs of each committee to set up meetings to discuss projects and steps needed to continuing moving along.
Committee Reports
Finance Committee – Gary Fox
Motion Gehle. Second Dooley to pay the bills in the amount of $23,253.84. Pontsler called for the question. Gehle = y, Dooley = y, Pontsler = y, Fox = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 5 yes.
Motion Pontsler. Second Gehle to accept the Mayors Court Pay in of $872. Dooley called for the question. Pontsler = y, Gehle = y, Dooley = y, Fox = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 5 yes.
Service Committee: Greg Pontsler
Alley work will continue, then work will begin on pot holes soon. Sidewalks on West St and Bridge street maybe yet this month.
Held a clean up day at Shanes Park last weekend. Each member has some tasks yet to be completed before games begin.
Park board meeting scheduled for Thursday.
Safety Committee: Chris Heitkamp

Economic Development Committee: John Dooley gave report
We will not have the 7 pm Economic committee meeting for a while. Working on current projects. Jeff working with Mercer County on some cost estimates for Industrial Park entrance.
Public Utilities Committee: Steve Gehle
Approval of the Tree Committee Officers for 2015

Tree City USA Banquet will be held on April 29th in Toledo.
Rules Committee: John Dooley
* Mayor / 2 Council seats to be on the ballot in November. The deadline for
information to be turned in to the Board of Elections is August 5th.
Committee held interviews for the open council seat and is ready to make a recommendation. Rob Rutledge is being recommended.
Motion Gehle, Second Pontsler to approve Rob Rutledge as the new council person. Heitkamp called for the question. Gehle = y, Pontsler = y, Heitkamp = y, Fox =y, Dooley = y. Passed 5 yes.
Rob will be sworn in at the next meeting on April 21st.
