Meeting Minutes: February 13, 2014
Jane Cozad called the meeting to order using ‘the gavel’!
Minutes were read from the January meeting and approved.
We are continuing our membership drive. Deadline is March 31st.
We will be holding a Business Expo during Community Days on June 13th from 5:30 – 9 pm. We will again this year be giving out $100 in Chamber gift certificates.
This will be opened to Chamber members first , The deadline will be April 10th. Then we will open it up to public. Chamber members $20 – non chamber members will be $35.00 for space. Space is limited !
Twyla and Leah will begin to work on the Chamber FUN Challenge to be held during Community Days .Date and time to be announced.
We will be holding Social Media Market classes on a quarterly basis. The first class will be on March 20th at 7 pm. “Facebook Marketing – it’s fun and it’s profitable”
Cost will be $10 per member, $15 per non member. RSVP with Payment by March 13th. Limited Seating. Laptops welcome!
Example of social media impact – WCSM has had over 1 million hits since the beginning of THIS year.
The Chamber Facebook page has 170 likes – please invite your friends to like our page to keep updated on Chamber events.
Marie will continue to share web site and facebook stats at monthly meetings.
Chamber membership directory – 16 pages / 4 color. All agreed this is a good marketing tool for the Chamber. The Directory itself is well worth the $50 membership fee.
Need a list of top 5 reasons to be a Rockford Chamber member! Marie has the info.
We will be posting on the Facebook page also.
Larry – WCSM introduced their newest team member – Chris Fader.
Larry also suggested some representatives of the Chamber go on the Spectrum show with Kevin Sandler. Jane and Marie will be doing show once the date is confirmed. Will promote chamber membership, new directory, business expo, April FUN run, Flower fundraiser, social media class, and ask people to LIKE our Rockford Ohio Chamber of Commerce Facebook page !
Jane to check with Mike Bruns about having a Chamber FUN Run in April. Marie to check on some race information. Plan would be to begin race at Shanes Park and end at the Parkway High School track.
Flower Power Fundraising: Beautify our area while supporting the Rockford Chamber. Purchase flower bulbs in the spring for summer blooms. Order information will be online and direct delivery. Marie will help get the online information up and running.
