Meeting Minutes: March 13, 2014
Meeting called to order by President Jane Cozad at 8 am.
The minutes from February were read and approved.
Treasurer report was given. Motion Dan. Second Nancy. All approved.
Chamber officers will be doing a Rockford Walk to visit businesses and encourage them to become chamber members. We will also note the business expo, the Chamber FUN run, our Membership Directory, and also our Business of the Month traveling trophy. We will meet at the village hall on Wednesday at 10 am.
We do not have anyone signed up for the Business Expo to date. But we will move ahead with plans. Chamber members have until April 10th to make RSVP before we open to the public. Jane now has other commitments that weekend so we will need some other volunteers to help.
The FUN Challenge will take place on Saturday – June 14th 9 or 10 am. Details to be worked out at next Friday’s meeting.
Social Media Class – Facebook Marketing will be held next Thursday – March 20th at 7 pm at the Village Office. We have 9 signed up so far.
Our Facebook page “Rockford Ohio Chamber of Commerce” continues to get more ‘likes’. We are at 174. Please continue to share with friends and encourage them to like our page.
Web site is live with some holes. We will be doing some training next week.
We will begin in April with the Business of the Month traveling trophy. We will be doing a press release and social media. Free promotion for Rockford and businesses. The April Business of the Month will draw for the May Business of the Month. We will also give them a certificate to display.
Lisa to contact WCSM for the Spectrum show. Jane, Marie and Leah will go to promote all the Chamber activities. (This will take place on March 31st )
Flower bulb fundraiser will continue till April 15th.
Scholarship committee this year is Ivan Knapp and Marti Lentz. May 1st and 2nd will be the interview days at Parkway.
FUN Run – we will table that event to 2015. We have enough going on already for this year.
Lisa gave Leadership update. Has been a great opportunity.Very thankful that the Chamber sponsored her. It would be nice to see other businesses in Rockford participate.
Dan Henkle reported that the welcome sign should be done and ready to be hung.
The Lions Club is asking for a contribution to the Variety Show. Motion Dan.Second Lisa to do what we have done in the past.$200 gift certificates. All approved.
Request from the Car Show committee for $25 for trophies. Motion Dan. Second Norm. All in favor.
