Meeting Minutes: January 10, 2013

7:30 a.m. Chip delivered the Morning Prayer prior to our delicious breakfast.

8:00 a.m. – Jane called meeting to order with the introduction of the new officers for 2013: President – Jane Cozad, Vice-President – Jeff Long, Secretary – Karen Hollar, Treasurer – Lisa Kuhn

Introductions made around the table of those present.

Last months minutes were read by Lisa and approved.

NEW BUSINESS:

Business Expo

Lisa shared that we had 16 yes votes – 12 were members – the remaining were small home businesses. There were 10 that would not participate.

Was also suggested Expo could take place at the same time as the Variety Show 3/23/2013. There would be no cost.

Parkway schools will be busy with sports events from 3/9 thru 4/27/2013, although there would be no room availability.

Charles suggested Expo be done along with Rockford community days June 14, 15 and 16th of 2013. Following a discussion of pros and cons, all were in favor of this. There will be more discussion of times for booths in conjunction with other events.

It was suggested that garage sales be done as a “kick-off” to community days the weekend prior. Discussion led to everyone leaning to have them the same weekend as well.

Lisa will check with vendors to see if they would be in favor of Expo at same time of community days.

As far as the fun challenge, it is planned to be a part of community days again and Leah will be in touch with Twyla to confirm this event. Again more discussion to fine tune time slots for all that will be part of this event.

Lisa suggested a plaque be given to Barry’s market for their 25th anniversary. This event will take place Saturday, January 26th, 2013. All present were in favor.
