Meeting Minutes: March 6, 2012

Council called to order by Mayor Amy Joseph on
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 7:30 pm at the Rockford Village Hall.
Invocation was given by Gene Steiner
Pledge of Allegiance
Those present: Gehle, Steiner, Hodge, Pontsler, Searight, Heitkamp
Also attending: Amy Kronenberger of the Daily Standard, Marti Lentz, Nancy Leighner and Chief May.
Motion Steiner. Second Pontsler to accept Agenda as orders of the day. Searight called for the question. Steiner = y, Pontsler = y, Searight = y, Gehle = y, Hodge = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 6 yes.
Motion: Searight. Second Hodge to accept the minutes from the
February 21, 2012 council meeting as presented. Gehle called for the question. Searight = y, Hodge = y, Gehle = y, Steiner = y, Pontsler = y, Heitkamp = y. Passed 6 yes.

Waterline project is ahead of schedule.
Village Administrator’s Report – Jeff Long – absent
Committee Reports:
Finance Committee – Steve Gehle
Motion Searight. Second Heitkamp to pay bills in the amount of $23,335.20. Bills include fuel, electric, salt basically normal expenses. Pontsler called for the question. Searight = y, Heitkamp= y, Pontsler = y, Gehle = y, Steiner = y, Hodge = y. Passed 6 yes.
Motion Hodge to accept the Mayors Court Pay in of $530.00. Second Pontsler. Searight called for the question. Hodge = y, Pontsler = y, Searight = y, Gehle = y, Steiner = y, Heitkamp = y, Passed 6 yes.
Finance committee meeting was held on March 5th at 7 pm. Everything looks good so far. We will review the quarterly information. During budget discussion all council will be involved.
Service Committee: Gary Hodge
Service committee meeting scheduled for March 19th at 6:30 pm.
Making some strides in several property clean up. Still need some improvements.
Safety Committee: Ron Searight

Motion Pontsler. Second Gehle. Steiner called for the question. Pontsler = y, Gehle = y, Steiner = y, Hodge =y, Heitkamp=y, Searight = y. Passed 6 yes.
Safety meeting was held on February 28th at 7:30 pm Discussed the safety plan. Is not finished yet. Hopefully will be done by the next meeting.
Economic Development Committee: Eugene Steiner
New business is a work in progress. Just waiting on more information at this time.
There will be a RADC Meeting on March 26th at the library basement.
Public Utilities Committee: Greg Pontsler
Several residents have mentioned that Time Warner rates are getting to high. What can we do for the residents to lower the costs? Some fiber optics have been installed. Hoping that will potentially bring in some other options.
Rules Committee: Chris Heitkamp
Nothing at this time. Rules committee meeting scheduled for March 20th at 6:30 pm.
Old Business
There are still some signs that are turning with the high winds. This has been addressed to Jeff in the past.
Village crew have been putting in catch basins.
Light outside Village Hall needs fixed. Was brought up 2 months ago.
New Business
Why do have patrols on Sunday mornings? Mixing hours up and the auxiliary have been helping out. Pontsler feels it’s Paul’s call to schedule how ever he wants to do it.
