Village Administrator’s Report – Aaron Temple  –

Main Street resurface project –   There is conflict between the construction company and the State — not sure when the project will be done.   Was supposed to be completed at the end of July.     Will report more when we have more information.

Truck repairs have been finished and we will get back to brush pick up later this week and into next week.   Will take several days to get caught up.

Pond project –  did some test digs so far.     Dublin Township is doing the digging clear to the back as they wanted the top soil – a win for both – as we will need the area dug out eventually for the street connecting the subdivision to Holly Lane.

Council agrees to purchase more treatment for the wastewater treatment plant going into the fall odors are usually increased with the turnover.

For the bad news — estimates for the new water tower have come in significantly higher than when we started working on the project a couple years ago.  We have the $850,000 grant but will still need an estimated $650,000 to complete the project.  This is the village doing some $30,000 of the project work and does not include the demo of the old tower which will be somewhere around $30,000.    The Notice to Bidders will be in the paper this week, posted on the village web site, and on the Village Facebook page.

More bad news — The EPA is requiring us to make improvements and repairs at the south water tower in the estimated amount of $600.000 range.

Estimated village costs for both projects 1.3 million.  We will know more after the opening of the new construction bids on August 23rd at 11 am.
