Village Administrator’s Report – Jeff Long
Jeff attended a meeting with other Mercer County Administrators. Discussions regarded the revenue loss from the state over the last several years. There is a way to increase revenues in the permissive registration fees for vehicles. This is in ORC sections 450406 and 4504172 that the village has the ability to increase the fee by $5 for one section and $5 for the other sections. The county also has the ability to enact this fee which would leave us with no additional funds. We have approximately 1198 registration and at 85% would be an additional $10,000 for the village. Council discussed and agreed that in order for the fees to come to Rockford, we need to act on these sections with legislation. We will have 3 readings on each beginning at the next council meeting. We need village money to stay in the village.
Jeff also met with Fremont and engineering firm regarding the WWTP. The engineers have come up with a good design. We just need to make sure it’s going to work. We are talking about having a 3rd party review.
