Meeting Minutes: June 12, 2014
Meeting called to order on June 12th by President Jane Cozad.
May minutes were read and approved. Motion Bob. Second Nancy. All approved.
The financial report was given. Motion Marie. Second Bob. All approved.
Congratulations to the Rockford American Legion for being the June Chamber Business of the Month.
FUN Challenge update. 20 teams have signed up and another 2 for the golf cart event. We are hoping for some last minute sign up the day of the event. Business participation signs need to be out by 9 am. The race will begin promptly at 10 am.
Must have yellow shirt to participate.
The money Marie received for the Facebook Marketing class, she has donated back to advertising for the FUN Challenge. Did some additional marketing in Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky for those interested in money and fitness. Over 6,000 views.
Social media classes will be put on hold until September. Classes will resume on
Monday – September 8th at the Rockford Library basement at 6 pm.
Website update – consistently updating consists of Village, Chamber, RADC and
Historical Society. We had also added a new page for the radio station.
Membership directory – work in process. Need letter from President by next meeting – July 10th.
Christmas event – talked to some of the businesses in the downtown area but haven’t heard of anything definite yet. If something comes together, Marie has volunteered to be the chamber representative.
Chamber Banquet – Tentative date November 6th. Need to check with Angie, Sandy and school. Look at some ideas for a speaker. Need to promote for nominations for Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year – must be a chamber member.
Leadership class for 2015 – Need list of those interested. Marie Miller and Ashley Stetler interested so far.
Ribbon cutting at the Rockford Carry out and Dining on Monday at 8 am.
Marie working on a communication plan.
