Council called to order by Mayor Amy Joseph on

Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 7:30 pm at the Rockford Village Hall.

 

Invocation was given by Jeff Long

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Those present: Gehle, Rutledge, Fox, Pontsler, Dooley, Heitkamp

 

Also attending: Jeff Long and Claire Geisige of the Daily Standard,

 

Motion Rutledge, Second Fox to accept the agenda as orders of the day.  Dooley called for the question.  Rutledge = y, Fox = y, Dooley = y, Gehle = y, Pontsler = y, Heitkamp = y.  Passed 6 yes.

 

 

Motion Gehle. Second Rutledge  to accept the minutes from the

March 1, 2016 council meetings as presented. Fox called for the question.

Received the February Mayors Court information – Bank Statement and Bank Rec along with pay in.

Finance Committee – Steve Gehle

 

Motion Rutledge. Second Pontsler  to approve bills submitted in the amount of $12,252.46.  Dooley called for the question.  Rutledge = y, Pontsler = y, Dooley = y, Gehle = y, Fox = y, Heitkamp = y.  Passed 6 yes.

 

Motion Fox to accept the Mayors Court pay in of $814.00. Second Pontsler.  Gehle called for the question.  Fox = y, Pontsler = y, Gehle = y, Rutledge = y, Dooley = y, Heitkamp = y.  Passed 6 yes.

 

Motion Rutledge approved Purchase order for Compmanagement. Second Pontsler.  Gehle called for the question.  Rutledge = y, Pontsler = y, Gehle = y. Fox = y, Dooley = y, Heitkamp = y.  Passed 6 yes.

 

* Council requests a quarterly report of the Mayors Court Pay in and the number of tickets written.

 

 

Service Committee:   Greg Pontsler  

 

In April, we will begin the brush pick up schedule.  We will be working on alley pot holes and sealing cracks in streets along with street sweeping.

 

Safety Committee:     Chris Heitkamp – nothing

 

Economic Development Committee: Rob Rutledge  – nothing

 

Public Utilities Committee:   Wilbur Fox

 

Committee meeting scheduled for March 22nd at 6:30 pm – Village Hall.

 

 

Rules Committee:      John Dooley  – nothing

 

 

Old Business

 

Application for cruiser grant was submitted. We will be working on the sale of the old cruiser by taking sealed bids.  There will be a minimum bid and we have the right to accept or reject all bids.  We will take bids until April 19th at the Council meeting. Bidders are welcome to inspect the cruiser at the Village Hall during business hours.

 

New street lights will be delivered on Thursday.

 

 

New Business

 

Mayor recommended to move Patrolman Stose to paid part time.
