Mayor’s Report and Correspondence:
Mayor Joseph visited 3rd graders at Parkway to discuss what it’s like to be a Mayor. She had some really good questions. The 3rd graders sent in some thank you letter to her for the visit.
Mayor Joseph along with Parkway school personnel, police, fire, EMS held a meeting to discuss school safety. They are doing research and reviewing current procedures and policies. The have plans for preparedness and prevention. The meeting went very well.

Village Administrator’s Report – Jeff Long
Electric has been moved and the old building has been taken down at Shanes Park. The area has been graded and seeded.
Had some well field projects – cleaning – 4 day project from start to finish.
We will open bids for the WWTP project on March 28th at 2 pm. We will have bids to review and approve at the next meeting on April 3rd.

Motion Young. Second Heitkamp to pay the bills in the amount of

2017 Tax Year
**** Required Information ****
- Page 1 of your Federal 1040 MUST be attached along with all W-2’s and 1099’s. RETURNS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL 1040 IS RECEIVED. This could result in late fees – see #5.
- All RESIDENTS – 18 years and older MUST file a local income tax return. All municipalities are “Mandatory Filing”, even if you don’t work !! (Retired taxpayers that have no Earned income and have registered with the tax office as being retired – need not file a return)
- All individual and business returns are due by April 15th. Business returns with a F/Y ending date are due the 15th of the fourth month following the year end date. Extensions must be filed by April 15th.
- ALL RETURNS MUST BE SIGNED.
- A $25.00 per month late fee, up to 6 months or $150 will be added to any late filed returns – even if no tax is due.
- Late returns with balances due will be charged 15% penalty plus interest until balance is paid in full.

Safety Committee: Chris Heitkamp
Held a meeting before council meeting – discussed the need for safety vests / t-shirts and reflective clothing for night. Need to continue with safety education at least once a month. Need stop signs and street signs replaced. They are here – need installed.
Economic Development Committee: Shane Young
Meeting was held on March 14th at 7 pm –
Reviewed information regarding some Covenants and Restrictions for the Shanes Crossing Subdivision.
Change from 1,000 sq ft to 1,500 sq feet, other changes included needs attached garage, stick built homes, 8” minimum thickness for walls, solar panels and windmills will be with permission from majority of owners and zoning board.
Jeff will make the necessary changes on the official paperwork and will get updated copies emailed.
Also regarding the subdivision – DP & L is staking the electric. We will trench and they will lay the line. Once this is complete we should be ready to sell !
RADC updates from Parkway – changing some lighting to LED, getting quotes to resurface the gym floors, looking at new bleachers and track resurface projects in the next couple of years.
Public Utilities Committee: Wilbur Fox – nothing at this time.
Rules Committee: Brad Now – nothing at this time.
Old Business
Street lights need to be fixed – hold funds if necessary to get done.
Radio station going good –being run by the Board of Directors. Have made some good changes.
